An Evening to Honor Pat Sobeck and the Queen Anne Helpline—Thursday, July 26

Hosted by Kenneth J. Woolcott at Kerry Park Court

SEATTLE, WA, July 10, 2012— Ken Woolcott and Kerry Park Court, the new luxury residences at 222 West Highland Drive, will host a fundraiser for the Queen Anne Helpline in honor of over 30 years of service by its departing Executive Director, Pat Sobeck. The fundraiser for the Queen Anne Helpline will be held on Thursday, July 26th from 6 to 9pm.

The Queen Anne Helpline takes pride in being an inclusive, compassionate and caring community composed of neighbors helping neighbors to improve lives. Pat Sobeck was Queen Anne Helpline's very first volunteer and later became its Executive Director. The Helpline lends a hand to fight hunger and homelessness by offering short term financial assistance to those who are confronting personal crises and unexpected life transitions. The Helpline supports programs in continuing education and training for adults and tutoring for children. A clothing bank, a non-perishable food pantry, and bookshelves are also available to residents in the Queen Anne neighborhood. The Helpline is a private and community organization that frequently participates in neighborhood events and activities and is funded entirely by personal donations and service.

Ken Woolcott recently learned that Pat Sobeck, Executive Director of the Queen Anne Helpline, will be leaving her post after over 30 years of service. Woolcott said, “The Queen Anne Helpline has long been a caring institution in the Queen Anne Community. I believe the most appropriate way to honor Pat Sobeck’s legacy of community service is to host an event that raises funds for the Helpline to continue its mission.”

Kenneth J. Woolcott, the owner, developer, and soon to be resident of Kerry Park Court, is a Seattle businessman, corporate attorney and entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in the biotech and high tech industries.

Woolcott, who grew up in Tacoma, still remembers the day he accidentally discovered the stunning view from Kerry Park on a college era jog through Seattle. Ken has always loved all things basketball, and his passion for the sport and the success of his business enabled him to become a minority owner in the Seattle SuperSonics. He has now founded an investment company, Six Degrees Capital, and has a charitable foundation, Heaven is a Playground, dedicated to children’s causes. His foundation, along with other donors including the Sonics/Storm, helped fund and plan the kids’ basketball court that is located in lower Kerry Park. Woolcott is an advocate for building community in the city and for leaving a civic, economic and entertainment legacy for future generations to enjoy.

All proceeds raised during the July 26th event will be donated to the Queen Anne Helpline.
